How To Join

Background Check
Little River Volunteer Fire Department requires a background check on all applicants. Transylvania County Sheriff’s Department is available to answer any questions and conduct the background check.

Interview
The interview will consist of general quesitons on background, intentions, and experience. This is an opportunity for the Membership Committee to get to know you.

Probation
Once your application is accepted you will be notified that you are on probation. At this point you can start to attend meetings. Your probation will last 6 months.

Membership Vote
At the end of your probation, the Membership Committee will recommend full membership before the body of members during a formal business meeting. Upn the reciept of a majority vote, you will become a full member.
